The Apologetics Study Bible for Students HCSB

Review:

I will start by saying I got a free copy of this Bible from Propeller FlyBy Promotions LLC in exchange for an honest review. I had been wanting a study bible for about 6 months, and I was excited when this opportunity became available .

I did not start off with a deep foundation in religion, it was rare that I went to church because I have been working since the age of 7, and full time 96 hours a week including Sundays by the age of 14.  I wanted to go because everyone else was going, but I couldn't.  Then came the time that I lost all faith.

Through life experiences and self-development via growing up with struggle, I began a journey that lead me to unconventional path of spirituality.  Of course I had to search for the answer, read between the lines, and explore via any means I could.

I finally ended up suicidal looking for a life-line.. reading self-help material. I stumbled up-on "Thick Face, Black Heart" a philosophical books about business and life. This book brought me to believe in GOD. Ching-Ning Chu, the author developed the book in such a way that that at the end of it, I felt full tranquility and peace. I went into the book as open as possible and came out feeling better than I had ever.. This moving feeling lead me to to seek other sources, and want to learn and understand the word of GOD. Her book was not religious, but her approach or walking me how each chapter was developed leads us to GOD.

I decided I wanted more! I am an auditory learner, and I will not get through any text unless I lock myself down in complete silence... my path led to The Secret, Psalms, then material about spiritual cleansing, majik, and brought me to the bible where all of the above came together.  I do not believe that I would have fully understood the bible as I do now if I would have gone to the Bible first and shun everything else out.

I like to see the bible in different ways.. I like the old English that does not have a translation, Bible books by Stephen M. Miller, then new version with translation... I usually follow this order because I like to approach the subject with a clear mind before anyone can put their thoughts on translation, which may sway interpretation.

Now we have arrived at the Apologetic Study Bible for Students... It develops well throughout the books, keeping the style interesting mixing Articles, Twisted Scriptures, Bone and Dirt, 25 tactics, 20 personal stories, and 20 top five which is a bullet point list that help readers remember significant apologetic topics.

For the most part I do like the approach they take, and if I had to choose an age group for this bible it would be 14+.   I did see a few things I could not agree with- either be it by translations and interpretation.  I would give this book a 4.5-4.7 star rating because I still find it be a resource that can help many on their journey.

When approaching anything including the bible, you should approach it like you are eating a whole fish.  When eating a whole fish, you do not just grab hand fulls and stick it in your mouth and swallow.   You take in the meat, and pick out the bones! You chew slowly -staying aware and conscious to make sure that you do not accidentally swallow a small bone and choke.

Be aware of what you are taking in, and if you are going to purchase a bible and call yourself a Christian - I would like to stress that you need ACTION... Don't just read about it, and repeat like a parrot.. APPLY IT!!!!
