The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden #BIGGESTSTORY CD/ Audio Review

The Biggest Story was introduced to me about a year back. I fell in love the the digital art that composed the book. This is the same book that we came to love but w/2 new formats: Audio & DVD.

The covers are bright and colorful, exactly like the book cover. Opening up the dvd, I find an invitation to download a Free Digital copy of The Biggest Story via an access code from crossway.org. The inner flap of both the Dvd and Cd contained unique double sided posters and the discs themselves. The posters are picture from the book, and could easily be framed for a child's bedroom. The voice from the audio sounded very familiar to me, and then I remembered watching the trailer. The new formats met my expectations and I believe would be great for introducing the Bible to children in a family friendly manner and lend themselves for children that may not yet know how to read, and need auditory material. Both CD and DVD are only 26 minutes long.  I believe that most cars have a CD player and would be great for daily travel with kids.

If you are familiar with the original book, then you will be pleased to know that the digital art is exactly the same, but taken to the next level by making it animated.  The movements of the pictures pulls every-bodies attention ( child and adult alike).  This is a simplified version of the Bible that lends itself into the colorful imagination of a child and will likely inspire future Bible study.  I would highly recommend it.

Unashamed: Healing Our Brokenness and Finding Freedom from Shame

‪#‎unashamed‬ ‪#‎flybypromotions‬ ‪#‎flyby‬

We all have shackles that have been cast upon us, sometimes these are by others, but many times we cast them upon ourselves.

Un-Ashamed makes the process of breaking free from the shackles of shame easier through a self-help type of guide that gives examples that can be used in real life. Also it directly relates each part of the book to different scriptures in the Bible. Several example are directly related from a woman's point of view, but I feel that through being open, gender is irrelevant and the process works exactly the same. I understand the author wrote it from her point of view, and the target niche is likely women. I really liked that besides the normal index the author included a scripture index. I am not the biggest reader since I am an auditory learner, so for people like myself -the book feels really nice in the hand and the text is not too small so it easy to develope momentum..I received a free or greatly discounted product for the purpose of this review.

Under the Sea Holy Bible - Children’s Bible

They did a fantastic job on the cover. They even made me want to carry it around with me because it was that attractive.
Targeted at 8-10yr olds. The inside has about 8 colored pictures, and I feel for this age group  with their attention span still in the lower spectrum... this bible would have benefited the use of more pictures. I think they tried to ride the Finding Nemo / Finding Dori wave and for the most part it is a great piece of work. The included color pages are spot on for the targeted age group, and the structure fo the bible itself is put into a simplified form without loosing much meaning, but I would like to see more pictures, and maybe even larger print... I do feel that this will be a useful tool that with the help from a parent or teacher and will help children learn. I would also suggest to the publishers, maybe having it as a more interactive bible.. so that kids can follow it online, click on animation/game type that correspond to the chapter. Kids need interaction and I would like to see the approach used with the bible because I feel it a message that is beneficial for us all.

#WoodieSpecs Two Toned Wooden Watch w/ Maple and Sandalwood #TTOG

http://amzn.to/1WbfHSG

I thought the handmade watch made up of maple and sandal wood was the neatest concept.  I have a fairly large watch collection... about 16 or so... price range value from $35 to $550. I dress in a suit 5 out of 7 days of the week and I like to change my watch depending on my shirt, or mood.

The wooden watch is a unique concept that I feel was mastered via WoodieSpecs and the general presentation of the item created an experience that surpassed my expectations.  The watch arrived in a very elegant wooden display box lined with a white velvet type material.

The watch is made up of real maple and saddlewood that works together with stainless steel. The links are simple enough to remove, I had to remove 4 for proper resizing.  The hour, minute and second hand have the ability to glow in the dark which is an appreciated feature.

The feel of the wood to my skin is smooth as can be, and the stainless steel clasp opens with a simple pinch.  Overall I could recommend this watch... I do like to say- If you want to tell the time, look at your phone, but if you want style get a watch. I believe that a watch really sets you apart, completes a wardrobe,  and puts you above the rest. I feel the boost my self- confidence and work as a conversation starter, especially if the person you are talking to is also a watch person. NOVICA Exotic Jade Earrings 'Dark Green Sacred Quetzal" #SacredQuetzal #Novica

The silver dangle earrings are featuring a dark green jade in a tear drop design with a hand carved Quetzal bird in the back. Truly a one of a kind item! The craftsmanship, precision, quality all come together forming an elegant look that is perfect for special occasions. They are a bit on the heavy side, because they are made from a real jade, but the sterling silver hooks have a unique locking mechanism to make sure that they will stay on as long as you would like them to. I feel like this is something that would have been worn in the Titanic's Ballroom. As an active Blogger, I received a free or greatly discounted product for the purpose of this review. Novica Lapis & Garnet Earrings 'Precious Cross' #Novica #PreciousCross

#PreciousCross

For me these cross earrings represent a symbol of my Christian faith with is also on point with what the artisan had in mind. I love the intricate modern design of the thoughtfully placed mixed gemstones that together form the Cross ("Precious Cross"). I believe the earrings serve as a form of protection spiritually as well as  metaphysically. The gemstones used to make up the design are lapis lazuli, garnet, smoky quartz. The hooks are made up .925 Sterling silver. The earrings themselves are extremely light weight measuring only 1.9" by 1.1".  The high quality and craftsmanship is easily seen and I would highly recommend them! 'Balinese Cross' Silver, Leather & Garnet Necklace #BalineseCross

This elegant cross made of sterling silver is a unique design that I have never come across before. The swirls almost appear to make hearts throughout the cross, and at the center of the cross there is a Red Garnet.  The necklace itself is braided leather, and is very comfortable.

The cross necklace, I feel represents my faith and is a symbol of protection.  My curiosity got the best of me and I went looking into the significance of the Red Garnet stone. Other than being the birth stone of January, it turns out that it also holds a meaning of protection. My research concluded that even Noah on the Ark used a Lantern made of Red Garnet to see in the dark, guiding and protecting. Maybe that has something to do with red light and night vision!?

Overall the Cross is beautiful, gets me lots of compliments, and I would recommend it. Everything from Novica is hand made and holds a story, this piece traveled all the way from Indonesia. Hand made items may very slightly from item to item, and this should be taken into consideration. I have attached video of my piece so that you get a better idea of what you actually get.

1byone 9000mAh 12V Multi-Function Smart Portable Car Jump Starter #1byoneJumpStarter

http://www.amazon.com/1byone-Multi-Function-Portable-Powerbank-Smartphones/dp/B00QPQD1NQ

This is now the third smart jump-starter that I have tested from different companies.

The clamps are excellent quality and the indicator brick actually communicates to you with words which is awesome and is a step above the rest for that feature alone. The battery itself has a power indicator that is super easy to read via #% Ex 100%, 99%, 98% ect. with batteries it is normally a shot int he dark on the amount of current charge, but %'s make it so much easier to get an idea of where you stand. There are 2 chargers that come with the unit- one wall charger, and one car charger.. the input is specific to the charger which is a downer, but it charges quickly.. so you have your ups and downs. The unit is also equipped with a usb port that should be able to charge most usb devices since it is rated at 5V 2A. The powerbank itself is rated at 9000mah.  Last but not least, it has a mulit-mode built-in LED flashlight that is fairly powerful. I did see another reviewer start a car directly from the unit, and he did it repeatedly without any rest time in between.... well from expeierence testing other units, I would suggest not trying that, and maybe adding about a 5-10min delay if you need to use it back to back if it is more than 3 times because I have seen the wires fry on other units. I would rather preserve the life of the device and add the time delay in between.  Overall it is an excellent jumpstarter with some really nifty features. Snug Plug n Play Kids Headphones #KidsHeadphones

Snug Plug n Play Kids Headphones Features
Driver units: 40mm
Compatible with any 3.5mm jack
Cord length: 1.2m
Lightweight, durable construction

Ideal for children that are connected and plugged in. The over ear head phones are bright and comfortable. There are too many bells and whistles.. simple makes perfect, right?  Everyday that I substitute, I have to take the children to the computer lams to work on Istation or Successmaker.. programs that teach them reading and math via the computer and it allows them to work at their own pace. The computer labs to have headphones, but many are broken, bitten, covered in germs, or the kids says just too painful to wear. These would fit the script perfectly, because many kids are already taking headphones.. but I still feel that over-the-ear is the way to go. Overall they are really nice quality and I would recommend them.

The Legend of the Easter Robin: An Easter Story of Compassion and Faith Review

The Legend of Easter Robin and the Dutch tale about how a Robin gets its red breasts were both new to me. I like that the book featured very nice quality illustration with fairly easy to understand and follow text. The season of Easter is just around the corner and children kind or loose sight that we are celebrating for the death and re-birth of Christ. The book has different symbols that hold significant representation for Christians, and makes it a little easier to explain their meanings to children.. I would highly recommend this book. I received a free or greatly discounted product for the purpose of this review. The opinions are 100% mine. I have not been influenced in any way. About the book:
In the center of the nest lay one perfect egg, the color of a spring sky. The father robin sat on a branch nearby, guarding his family. Tressa spotted raccoon tracks below and a blue jay eyeing the nest. “Gran, how are we going to keep the egg safe?” “We’ll have to leave that one to the Creator,” Gran said. Robins have built a nest on the window ledge at Grandmother’s house! Tressa is thrilled―and concerned. What will happen to the sky-blue egg laid by the mother robin? As more eggs appear, Tressa witnesses the daily drama of the robins’ nest and learns how God cares for all creatures. Besides watching the birds, there are Easter eggs to color. And there is a very special story to hear―a tale of long ago about one small bird with a very big heart. How did the robin get its red breast? Tressa is about to find out as Gran tells her the story of the Easter robin. Brought to life with colorful, tender illustrations, The Legend of the Easter Robin will captivate and teach your child about compassion and faith.

Adam Solomon's The Alphabet Book #DrSidSolomon

http://amzn.to/1R2cxdm

http://www.adambsolomon.com/dr-sid-solomon/

As we get older and focus more on survival versus imagination and fun, the world begins to loose its magic and wonder. This book is an elegant and refreshing look at the alphabet through the eyes of a 10 year old boy named Adam Solomon.  The book is word-less, only abstract pictures of daily things that we encounter throughout the day yet for the most part do not focus too much attention on.

Currently, I am a Substitute Teacher. I get requested to sub a lot in both Pre-K and Kindergarten. Many times I will actually carry this book around with me when I need to keep the kids entertained, and they ask me to read them a story. The word-less nature of the book and easy to spot Letter symbol makes ideal to ask the kids questions, and all them to come up with their own conclusions, and even get them to start thinking like the photographer. The kids love the fact that it is photographed by a 10 year old, and I feel that it inspires them to hopefully set out on a similar journey.

The Marbles set is great! Very nice quality. I used them for my ATCP PPR class to teach Kinetic and potential energy. I built a roller coaster out of popsicle sticks and hot glue. My presentation was the one to beat. Also was able to explain inertia with them. Overall its a nice set for a little off the grid fun.
