Great little lantern!!

Works on (3) AA batteries.

When using it in a closed position the light is magnifies via a convex lens. Opening up the lantern it has a large coil spring that pushes it into an expanded position. There is an opaque material mesh that diffuses the light and makes it more comfortable to the eyes.

Modes- High, med, Strobe.

The modes can be activated via the power button and will work in open or closed position.

It has a built-in hook on the end of it with a latch which is a great feature to have if you would want to attach it to a stretched out rope or back pack.

I have included some hacks in the situation that you do not have (3) AA batteries, you may just have (2). You may just have (3) AAA batteries, or you may have on (1) AAA, and (1) AA. All you will need is foil fold and stretched long enough to make contact to the metal to close the circuit, and for the AAA you fold the foil into a little ball/square to fill in the gap to the metal surface-again closing the circuit.
