Slimming Meals That Heal #MealThatHeal

How can I start to explain how good of a book Slimming Meals that Heal is...
It is kind of like "The Mood Cures", Feingold Diet, and Dr. Oz Show, had a colorful baby.

It is a remarkably comprehensive guide to improve and maintain your physical (internal), and mental health.  Included in the book is 5-step plan on how to boost metabolism and balance hormones which is a topic that I became familiar with and developed an interest when reading "The Mood Cures" which targets different aspects of depression.

Julie starts off "Slimming Meals that Heal" by giving her own personal story, and struggles with a food disorder that ruined, and weakened her stomach, mental clarity, focus, sleep.

She takes us on a path of our own self-discovery via question and answers and provides us with feedback from the options that we choose, and explains in simple terms what it all means.  With the explanation in our sight, she follows with simple solutions and suggests the necessary path to recovery, with actual action plan... No more Food Prisons, you can loose weight, have energy, and feel better, by eating delicious foods.  She walks us through how foods can both heal, and hurt us.

Food allergies cause inflammation and the way she approaches the subject is kinda like the Feingold Diet for ADHD, process of elimination..  Remove one food type completely out of the diet, and work it back it in a period of weeks or months, to see how the item actually works with you body.  I like the methodology of the approach.

Julie walks us through the science and nutritional facts while allowing her personality to flow through the text, as if she is actually speaking to you directly and offering solutions.
The Recipes are easy to follow, and I especially like the legend that she includes aside each recip.

I will attach a photo below.

Legend ( I will attach a picture of it )

I am an auditory learner, so I do not spend much time in the visual book world unless it is a book I am forced to read, or one that I really enjoy. Even books that I enjoy, I usually need to mark it up with highlighters and notes so that information that is important pops out at me.

Julie did an awesome job with how the Physical book is formatted.  The print is large enough to read straight through, without straining your eyes. Color coded paragraphs, charts, and pictures really bring everything together taking us from problem to resolution with an easy to remember format.  I did not have to mark it up with a highlighter.

This book is a must own, especially if you are attempting a move to a healthier lifestyle. I feel you are more than likely to succeed with it, and I would recommend it.
