These Silicone pads have several benefits including that they are relatively thin so you do not have to eat up to much storage space. Silicone does not conduct or hold heat for too long, so if you are not needing to hold a Hot pan or Pot for too long then these work awesome!! Also, since you have a pair, you can use one as a table protector, when you place hot items with the other one on top--reducing damage from heat.
