Francois et Mimi do it again... This is now my 7th item that I have had the opportunity to review. Their product quality is very high and the stainless steel goes with the furniture at my moms house.
The idea of the bread box is that it allows the bread to breathe and at the same time holds humidity inside giving the fresh feel and taste. With the bread box you should expect fresh bread to stay fresh about 3 days. This container is not air tight which allows the breathing, and the humidity is created from the bread itself.
If you make your own bread, enjoy sweet bread, or other baked goods then I recommend you get one. Now that we as a Society, at-least I believe, wants to live more natural and have less preservatives in our food. Fresh bread is a growing trend which is coming back in style.

I don't believe it is damaged it is more than like a tool marking that occurred when bending the steel into a curved shape. This Model is completely solid Stainless steel and fits well with a stainless steel furnished kitchen. I think it would be a great gift to some that Loves coffee and bread.
