The Legend of the Easter Robin: An Easter Story of Compassion and Faith Review

The Legend of Easter Robin and the Dutch tale about how a Robin gets its red breasts were both new to me. I like that the book featured very nice quality illustration with fairly easy to understand and follow text. The season of Easter is just around the corner and children kind or loose sight that we are celebrating for the death and re-birth of Christ. The book has different symbols that hold significant representation for Christians, and makes it a little easier to explain their meanings to children.. I would highly recommend this book. I received a free or greatly discounted product for the purpose of this review. The opinions are 100% mine. I have not been influenced in any way. About the book:
In the center of the nest lay one perfect egg, the color of a spring sky. The father robin sat on a branch nearby, guarding his family. Tressa spotted raccoon tracks below and a blue jay eyeing the nest. “Gran, how are we going to keep the egg safe?” “We’ll have to leave that one to the Creator,” Gran said. Robins have built a nest on the window ledge at Grandmother’s house! Tressa is thrilled―and concerned. What will happen to the sky-blue egg laid by the mother robin? As more eggs appear, Tressa witnesses the daily drama of the robins’ nest and learns how God cares for all creatures. Besides watching the birds, there are Easter eggs to color. And there is a very special story to hear―a tale of long ago about one small bird with a very big heart. How did the robin get its red breast? Tressa is about to find out as Gran tells her the story of the Easter robin. Brought to life with colorful, tender illustrations, The Legend of the Easter Robin will captivate and teach your child about compassion and faith.

Adam Solomon's The Alphabet Book #DrSidSolomon

As we get older and focus more on survival versus imagination and fun, the world begins to loose its magic and wonder. This book is an elegant and refreshing look at the alphabet through the eyes of a 10 year old boy named Adam Solomon.  The book is word-less, only abstract pictures of daily things that we encounter throughout the day yet for the most part do not focus too much attention on.

Currently, I am a Substitute Teacher. I get requested to sub a lot in both Pre-K and Kindergarten. Many times I will actually carry this book around with me when I need to keep the kids entertained, and they ask me to read them a story. The word-less nature of the book and easy to spot Letter symbol makes ideal to ask the kids questions, and all them to come up with their own conclusions, and even get them to start thinking like the photographer. The kids love the fact that it is photographed by a 10 year old, and I feel that it inspires them to hopefully set out on a similar journey.

The Marbles set is great! Very nice quality. I used them for my ATCP PPR class to teach Kinetic and potential energy. I built a roller coaster out of popsicle sticks and hot glue. My presentation was the one to beat. Also was able to explain inertia with them. Overall its a nice set for a little off the grid fun. SelpHbalance pH strips #selpHbalancestrips

http://amzn.to/1TkdF0V
The ph balance strips really you get a better idea of where you stand in the pH scale. Acidic is prone to becoming sick, while alkaline is ideal and disease can really live in an alkaline source.   The strips are easy to use... you either pee on it first thing in the morning, or put some saliva on it. *Note: do not stick it in your mouth, use a spoon. Yes the warning is on the holder, but I can admit that I made the mistake of putting it in my mouth. Note to self- read directions.

Once you have this info what do you do with it? what if you are acidic? Well the goal is Alkaline, so most people will approach this by actually drinking alkaline water. There are machine that retail up to $4,000 to make alkaline water at home, and yes we  own one. Recent studies though say it doesn't have that much of a positive affect on the body.. well people can argue back and forth..but I do feel a less expensive option would be to eat alkaline foods. Although I am not about to go into the different lists of foods.. this may be a more affordable option that could also help with weight control. All-in-all the ph test stripes is a good way to track and guide your progress.

100 pH test strips per bottle allow you to monitor your pH levels to know you're acidic or alkaline

The book says there is 4 types of depression and there is a small Q/A quiz and depending how many you check yes to.. you will know what treatment to follow. I have the luck of having all four.. and the amino Acids that help me the most is 5-HTP, DLPA, L-Tryptophan..there are several others that I take and have taken, but these help me the most. 5-HTP allows me to feel good and motivated, DLPA helps with motivation and energy, and the Tryptophan helps with anxiety and the feeling that I can't breath. * "I received free or discounted product in exchange for providing an unbiased review.

Northbooks Hardcover Notebook / Journal 5x8 #northbooks

Measuring 5x8 with thick, lined pages that are held together inside of a hardcover. The Notebook has a lay flat design that makes it perfect for the avid journalist, or note taker.  I really like the minimalist design- very sophisticated.  The thick pages prevent the ink from bleeding which is really nice. Overall this is a great quality notebook that should last a long time if properly taken care of. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

L-Tryptophan - 60 Count #britryptohan

http://www.brinutrition.com/products/l-tryptophan-supplement

L-Tryptophan  is a great tool if you are suffering from anxiety and depression. I have been having anxiety attacks now for about a year, and it got to the point where I could be driving, and I feel like I couldn't breath with a heavy weight on my chest.   Reading The Mood Cure, I basically self-diagnosed myself with an adrenal exhaustion.. why? I am basically in constant stressed mode, working 96 hours a week since the age of 14 since my mother was hurt in an accident and couldn't work. I managed to keep my grades up and pay the bills. I went on to manage a banquet/ catering business which  was constant stress on a daily basis. Now 27, I am burnt out.  Taking 1,500mg of  L-Tryptophan allows be to feel a little more peacefull as if I am being feed fresh air.  * "I received free or discounted product in exchange for providing an unbiased review.

Insect Repellent Patch Stickers (Top Rated) #yourpreparedfamily

These stickers go on your shirt or pants and are effective for up to 72 hours, but the smell fades in about 12 hours.

Working with students in elementary school, kids love stickers. Stickers are used for rewards for good behavior or completed tasks, and the kids collect them. I can see why the inventors of this patch went with the sticker.. kids love them. my nephews wanted to peel all of them and I had to explain that if they behaved I would give them one... I didn't explain about insects.. but that approach worked for me.  For the most part the patch works really well.* "I received free or discounted product in exchange for providing an unbiased review.

NOVICA Men's Brown Leather Wristband Bracelet with Brass Snaps 'Riverbank', Review #RiverbankWristband

 http://amzn.to/1Q6ycRe

NOVICA in association with National Geographic works with artisans around the globe. This piece is by  Artisan Ricardo Hinojosa out of Guanajuato, Mexico.

Living in South Texas approx. 10-15 minutes from the border of Mexico, you get to learn about what each state in Mexico is known for by the constant influx of travelers through this region. Guanajuato is known for its leather work, and this leather bracelet has me very impressed, since it is my first leather piece out of that region.

I expected something thick, rough, and over-powering of my wrist. On the contrary, the bracelet is smooth, soft and flexible, yet with a nice durable feel. The bracelet has 4 brass snaps that allows it to be easily adjusted between 7.5 - 8.25".  You can get a better idea of my explanation from the attached video.  The stitching is excellent.  The holes that are punched through the bracelet are supposed to create the illusion of pebbles lining a riverbank. I guess I can see how that works. I picture maybe some kids playing with pebbles creating lines on the side of a river, and going home for the day... and then later picturing -arriving there and finding these lined pebbles. The story that they hold through creation,  washing ashore, getting  lined up and enjoying the site of them.

Overall, I love the quality, it fits great. I would highly recommend it.  If you are in the education field and have a tattoo that maybe is not allowed, and you are looking for a cover up; then I think this would be a good option for that to.  The bracelet fits my style and looks great with a black or white shirt.

Evolutionary Tales - Paperback #TheWilderWay

http://amzn.to/1ScKqhw

Evolutionary Tales is a compilation of 10 charming poems/stories by Matt Cubberly..

The poems and illustrations are very well thought out, and are a perfect tool to get students started on the idea of evolution. As the intro of the book suggests, the stories are more of a showcase to the results of evolution versus a science textbook that explains how the animal evolved.

I do believe that the showcase of the animal is great way to introduce this topic to children, and can lead to further in person discussion about the animals and how it adapted to the world and why.
