NOVICA in association with National Geographic works with artisans around the globe. This piece is by  Artisan Ricardo Hinojosa out of Guanajuato, Mexico.

Living in South Texas approx. 10-15 minutes from the border of Mexico, you get to learn about what each state in Mexico is known for by the constant influx of travelers through this region. Guanajuato is known for its leather work, and this leather bracelet has me very impressed, since it is my first leather piece out of that region.

I expected something thick, rough, and over-powering of my wrist. On the contrary, the bracelet is smooth, soft and flexible, yet with a nice durable feel. The bracelet has 4 brass snaps that allows it to be easily adjusted between 7.5 - 8.25".  You can get a better idea of my explanation from the attached video.  The stitching is excellent.  The holes that are punched through the bracelet are supposed to create the illusion of pebbles lining a riverbank. I guess I can see how that works. I picture maybe some kids playing with pebbles creating lines on the side of a river, and going home for the day... and then later picturing -arriving there and finding these lined pebbles. The story that they hold through creation,  washing ashore, getting  lined up and enjoying the site of them.

Overall, I love the quality, it fits great. I would highly recommend it.  If you are in the education field and have a tattoo that maybe is not allowed, and you are looking for a cover up; then I think this would be a good option for that to.  The bracelet fits my style and looks great with a black or white shirt.
